Cleathero Creations

 

My name is Bronwen Cleathero and I live in Queensland Australia.  I  live with my partner and our 4 beautiful daughters.  I made my first teddy bear in 2001 and I started designing my own bears in late 2004 and enjoy the challenge a new idea presents. I will often see or hear things that will set me to thinking and I jot the ideas in a notebook that is never far from me.   I am not restricted in my style of bear and I try new things all the time, believing that there is much to learn.  I hand sew my bears,  I feel it gives me more control over them as they come into the world, few things give me greater pleasure then seeing their personailty form under my hands.

My bears are all over Australia and now overseas,  it is very exciting to know something I created is spreading all over the world bringing happiness.

In 2004 I was also introduced to beads and very quickly turned to love of beading and wirework.  I love to experiment with new things and have found a huge world where there is so much to learn.  Most of my pieces are one offs or limited editions but still they are never identical.

2007 saw the culmination of a dream that I had for many years.  I became a published author.  I am in the process of writing more including childrens books (these will be published under my real name). 

I really enjoy my endeavours and plan to expand my abilities in the coming year.
